Welcome to this tutorial for the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church website. The website is powered by a modified version of an open source content management system or CMS called Drupal. The user interface is relatively simple to navigate, and once you’ve had a chance to add and edit a few different types of content, you’ll likely feel pretty comfortable with the system. In general, most of the features work like a word processor program. As you add or edit content, numerous fill-in-the-blank style forms will guide you through the process.
In order to add or modify content on the website, you will need both an account and the proper access authority. Anyone can create an account through the main MCLC web page; however, for several important reasons, only a system administrator can modify the permissions for an individual user. This is important as otherwise it would be possible for anyone to create an account and begin adding or modifying the content on the MCLC web site. Unfortunately, many individuals have nothing better to do with their time than to sabotage websites. Therefore we need to be somewhat careful regarding who we allow certain permissions within the website. After you have created an account, contact a system administrator (webmaster@mountcalvary-boulder.org) to request additional privileges.
