Nicole has been approved for ordained ministry in the Rocky Mountain Synod. On February 27, 2019, her request for a geographical restriction to the Rocky Mountain Synod must be approved by the ELCA Conference of Bishops. If her restriction is approved, Nicole will be available for first call.

Nicole was a member of the 2015 Trans Seminarian Cohort, a project sponsored by the Center for LGBTQ and Gender Studies in Religion (a program of the Pacific School of Religion), the Freedom Center for Social Justice, and the National LGBTQ Task Force. Nicole is honored to say she is now a member of the faculty for the 2019 Trans Seminarian Cohort. As a member of the faculty, Nicole will be one of three transgender religious leaders to mentor six transgender seminarians. This opportunity took Nicole to the Trans Seminarian Cohort Retreat held in Berkeley CA in October 2018 and to Creating Change in Detroit MI in January 2019. Nicole will attend the Transgender Faith and Action Network Conference in North Carolina in August 2019.
Nicole was the featured speaker on February 18, 2019 at Valparaiso University’s Institute for Leadership and Service.
