Pastor Ken – Bridge Pastor
The personal sketch: South Dakota farm boy, born and raised in that state, married to high school sweetheart Marlys (Thompson), three kids, six grandchildren. Wartburg Theological Seminary, ordained 1963, in 37 years of parish ministry served four parishes, three of them in South Dakota, very active in district, synod, and national church. Moved to Boulder in 1990 (Atonement), retired 2000, served 10 interim ministries (1 in Logan, UT, and 9 in Colorado). Author of A Place at the Table: Scripture, Sexuality, and Life in the Church, and have led presentations and conversations on the issues involved in something like 40 places in six states. Have done 25 Bolder Boulders, certified as USATF track and field official, CU Men’s Basketball fan.

Beth – Office Professional
Beth Confrancisco is Mount Calvary’s Office Professional and is responsible for all communication platforms, scheduling, and everything administrative. A self-professed “church geek,” Beth arrived at Mount Calvary in July 2017 after moving from New England where she had spent 14 years administrating Trinity Lutheran Church in Chelmsford, MA. Beth holds a B.A. in Theater/English from Hope College in Holland, MI, and her career has spanned electronics distribution, human services, academia, pizza throwing, and the occasional acting gig. Beth is the mother of two daughters (who are still in New Hampshire) and enjoys cooking, reading, movies, theater, Halloween, and staying in touch.

Anna – Director of Worship and Music
Anna Ahrens started as our Director of Music and Worship in September 2017. She is a graduate from The University of Akron where she studied with Dr. Marie Bucoy-Calavan and received her Master of Music degree in choral conducting in May 2017. Anna also holds a Bachelor of Sacred Music degree and Bachelor of Science in Bible from Clarks Summit University. She worked for two seasons as the Western Reserve Choral Conducting Fellow with Summit Choral Society’s Masterworks Chorale and helped to prepare and conduct the chorus in concert, in addition to offering pre-concert lectures and guest conducting with Summit Choral Society’s Children’s Choruses. Anna has also participated as a conducting fellow in master classes with renowned choral conductors such as Robert Porco, John Alexander, Duain Wolf, Rob Istad, Jerry Blackstone, James Jordan, Paul Rardin, Rollo Dillworth, and Mitos Andaya Hart. When not pursuing her love of music, Anna enjoys running, hiking, coffee, and hanging out with her dog, Dakota.

Walton – Accompanist
Walton Lott has played the piano since age 5. He achieved his Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance at Millsaps College in Jackson, MS; his Masters of Music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG); and completed his doctoral coursework and examinations at UNCG. When not playing at Mount Calvary, Walton passes his time bar tending on Pearl Street, playing with his dog-sized cat, Babbitt, and reading great literature and also not-so-great literature. Walton joined the staff in July of 2017.
Beth – Bookkeeper
Beth Shannon is Mount Calvary’s Bookkeeper and started serving in her position in the fall of 2006. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Pacific Lutheran University and spent her early career working in the social work field helping families with emergency financial and housing assistance in Seattle. She then went on to work in the fund raising capacity for the YWCA and United Way of Boulder County. After taking some time off to raise her two children she found her passion working with finances. She loves to take care of the behind the scenes detail of bookkeeping, budgeting, and all aspects of church accounting. In her spare time she likes to garden, walk her dogs, travel, and practice yoga.

Karen – Director of Rainbow Child Care
Karen Peterson is the Director of Rainbow Child Care and has served served as director since 1997. She loves helping children to develop and discover their world. In addition to serving as director, she is a teacher for the oldest group, and thrives on capturing the kids’ interests while working on skills including science, art, and kindergarten readiness. When not at Rainbow, Karen enjoys skiing (fast), hiking (everywhere), fishing (endlessly), and canoeing (lazily), all with her family. She also does mosaic glass work, beading, sewing, and volunteer work through her church. Karen has 2 sons, Ezra and Oliver, who are 15 years apart!!
